Portfolio of Works
Scratchboard
Scratchboard is subtractive art form that involves removing the ink from an inked board (either scratchboard or clayboard) with a variety of tools, such as Xacto knives, scribes, tattoo needles, fiber brushes, etc. Color may be added in layers, using acrylic inks, ink pencils, watercolor, or colored pencils.
Felt Art
I create 2D felt 'paintings' by wet-felting wool fibers together to form a background, and then add details by needle-felting. All felties are framed in shadow-box style frames to protect the artwork and put a little space between the felt and the glass.
Gifts
We now have mugs made from Sally's scratchboard art and will be adding more items from time to time.
Tom's Turned Bowls
I have been turning bowls and other items since 2010. Most of these bowls have found homes and I am currently doing mostly commission work, but I am starting to turn out some new bowls (did you see what did there?) My practice focuses on dyed and metalized bowls, but I am adding some very different new pieces soon.
Handheld Power and Light
Handheld Power and Light is a very small part of Havenhill Studios
Custom pens, wands, walking sticks and staffs made from Ash, Oak, both red and white, Ebony, Lignum Vitae, Alder and Willow. I can get many other woods.
I also stock a variety of semi-precious stones and crystals for pen caps and walking stick handles.
I also have silver, copper and ferrous (cold and forged) metals available.
I can make pens in all ferrous or totally non-ferrous options, depending on your needs.
Occasionally I will make a piece without an order, and these pieces will be posted here.
